NCFRMI and IOM Facilitate Voluntary Return and Reintegration of 40 Nigerian Returnees from Sudan

by | | general-news, news-ticker

In furtherance of its mandate to protect and assist Nigerians in vulnerable migration situations, the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), has successfully received and profiled 40 Nigerian returnees from Sudan under the voluntary return framework.

As part of a holistic reintegration approach, the returnees were provided with essential starter packs—practical tools aimed at promoting self-reliance, restoring livelihoods, and enabling dignified reintegration into their communities of origin.

This collaborative intervention underscores NCFRMI’s commitment to ensuring that return is not merely an end, but a new beginning—rooted in dignity, empowerment, and opportunity.

Through IOM’s facilitation and NCFRMI’s reintegration support, Nigeria continues to reaffirm its dedication to safe, humane, and coordinated return pathways, while strengthening national systems to advance inclusive development and long-term stability.
