The Federal Republic of Nigeria, through the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), is proud to host an official study visit by key international migration stakeholders as part of a collaborative initiative to explore sustainable approaches to migrant reintegration.
This visit marks a strategic milestone in the development of a thematic Knowledge Product titled “Reimagining Reintegration”—an initiative designed to highlight Nigeria’s experiences, good practices, and institutional lessons in supporting the return and long-term reintegration of migrants.
In today’s dynamic migration landscape, reintegration has evolved from a final phase to a foundational element of sustainable migration governance. The focus group discussions during the visit aim to foster deeper dialogue, promote shared learning, and reaffirm Nigeria’s commitment to inclusive, coordinated, and rights-based reintegration efforts.
Through this platform, NCFRMI continues to lead with a bold, human-centered vision that frames reintegration as a catalyst for resilience, social cohesion, and national development. By connecting policy frameworks with lived realities, Nigeria is working to redefine reintegration as a cornerstone of sustainable development and a pathway to restoring dignity and opportunity for returnees.
