Bello, officially opened the session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Addressing Global Displacement and Asylum Requests<br>According to details provided by the Head of the Refugees Affairs Department, Mr. Titus Murdakai, the Committee is currently evaluating over 370 applications from asylum seekers representing various nationalities. The applicants are seeking formal status recognition and legal protection under Nigeria\u2019s established refugee protection framework.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prominent among the nationalities represented in the current round of reviews are asylum seekers from Syria, Sudan, and Cameroon, alongside applicants from several other nations affected by instability and conflicts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mandate of the Eligibility Committee<br>The Eligibility Committee serves as the statutory authority tasked with determining refugee status in Nigeria.
